The Bothy’s location makes it an ideal base for exploring the North East of Scotland.
Follow the A90 from Dundee towards Aberdeen. Take the third exit for Forfar where the A926 crosses the A90 signposted Kirriemuir/Forfar. Follow the signs for Kirriemuir. As you come into Kirriemuir, Glen Clova is signposted on brown road signs. Follow these through and out of Kirriemuir and up to Dykehead (approximately 6 miles). Go through the village, taking care to follow the road R as it exits the village. After approximately 3 miles there is a right turn signposted for Rottal. Go down over the Gella Bridge and after half a mile you will find Clachnabrain on the left.
Follow the A90 from Aberdeen towards Dundee. Take the second exit for Forfar where the A926 crosses the A90, signposted Forfar/Kirriemuir. Follow directions as above.
